Analyst predicts Samsung may be the chip provider of 2G iPod shuffle player - Mp4 Converter

Updated November 9,2006

After reviewing a teardown of 2G iPod shuffle player, analyst Craig Berger predicted that Samsung may be the chip provider of 2G iPod shuffle player. Although since January of 2005 SigmaTel chip had been the provider for iPod shuffle player processor, the analyst concluded that the device processor of 2G iPod shuffle resembles a Samsung chip recently identified as the primary component in Apple's second-generation iPod nano. "The processor is an Apple logo-stamped ARM chip (#337S3300 844A), similarly named to the Apple logo-stamped ARM chip found in the new iPod nano (#337S3291) that is known to be a Samsung chip," analyst Berger said. Other proof of this predict is that a Samsung executive in late May released that Samsung may win the contact with Apple to provide chips for Apple iPod player.
