In a brief statement, Softbank claims that there is no such a thing as cooperation with Apple to develop Apple iTunes mobile phone and it is rumor from the media.

On May 13th a report appeared in the Japanese Nihon Keizai Shimbun Saturday Morning edition released that Apple and Softbank would cooperate to develop a mobile phone which features a built-in iPod digital music player. Latter the rumor spread through the media.

Since Apple has already done an iTunes phone deal with Motorola, it maybe has another deal but not with Softbank.

Softbank is awarded the Japanese Vodafone mobile business just now and is well known in the Japanese mobile phone landscape competing with DoCoMo and others.
