iPod life-span was misquoted - Mp4 Converter

Updated August 2,2006

Just several days ago we have posted the news, Apple: iPods built to last 4 years. It reported that Apple spokeswoman Natalie Kerris told the Chicago Tribune that iPods have a failure rate of less than 5 percent, which she said is "fairly low" compared with other consumer electronics. "The vast majority of our customers are extremely happy with their iPods,"Kerris said, adding that Apple builds the players to last four years.

After that things changed. Kerris told iLounge that she was misquoted by Tribune's reporter. She said she told the reporter that the iPod was designed to last "for years", while the reporter misunderstood as "four years". The spokeswoman still stated that iPods have a failure rate of less than 5 percent.
