Can't be without your iPod music player even when you're halfway up a mountain and facing blizzard conditions? Then iPod player accessory maker Belkin has a weather-resillient wireless remote control just for your iPod.

Dubbed the SportCommand, the limb-lashable controller is covered in fabric to protect its electronics from the elements and to allow it to flex while you move. The large volume, play/pause and track-skip controls sit next to the battery pack and transmitter, which talks to a dongle clipped onto your portable music player. The range is 15m, Belkin claimed.

The $80 product works with both generations of the iPod Nano player, along with the iPod Mini player, and video-playing and colour-screen hard drive iPod players, Belkin said. The SportCommand is due to ship in the US and Canada next month, and later in Asia, Europe and Australia.
