The Wall Street Journal: Details about cheaper iPhone and the new version of MobileMe
About Cheaper iPhone:
One of the people, who saw a prototype of the phone late last year, said it is intended for sale alongside Apple's existing line. The new device would be about half the size of the iPhone 4, which is the current model. The new phone—one of its code names is N97—would be available to carriers at about half the price of the main iPhones.
The screen will occupy the entire area of front panel, that is, no Home button. This is the same as the before rumors--- "iOS 5 introduces gestures to perform the return operation" .
Virtual keyboard and voice control are retained, is the main operation mode of cheaper iPhone.
About MobileMe:
Jobs thinks MobileMe is one of the most important tasks in 2011. New version of MobileMe will be free, so that more people can use it to store photos and videos, to let it become a personal media library.
The new service would give users access to their iTunes libraries from, say, an iPhone or iPad, instead of requiring that the devices be synced by cable with a computer and use space to store the actual files, the people said. The new service likely would be compatible with the iPhone 4, one of the people said.
According to the Wall Street Journal said, the new MobileMe and new iPhone will debut in this summer.
