Avatar Blu Ray Release Dates Change
It looks like the highly anticipated 3D movie of the year will not be coming out to disc in 3D until next year. In a recent press release today, James Cameron announced that Avatar will be released in DVD and Blu-ray as previously mentioned. However, this release will only have the movie on the disk and won’t include any special features or those annoying movie trailers that everyone hates. Instead, included in the box will be a code and a webpage that will direct the customer to an online website called The Avatar Program. This site will allow guests to see some of the special features about the movie and even will allow guests to adopt their own “Virtual Hometree.” The website’s main purpose though is the keep people interested in the movie until the November release of the “Ultimate” edition, which will include bonus features, wallpapers, a “pandorapedia,” and a “Immersive Trailer” that allows viewers to interact with the Avatar movie trailer in order to find out more about the characters, locations, and more. The 3D version was originally announced to release in November, but according to reports, it will be pushed back until next year.
