3D Blu-ray on the Way

Good news for anyone who wants to add another dimension to the viewing experience. The word is that Dolby Laboratories will be giving a first peek of its new 3D video technology for Blu-ray movies. This technology reportedly uses the same checkerboard pixel pattern that is being used in some rear projection sets from Mitsubishi and Samsung. Interestingly, while those sets are compatible with certain PC video cards, it sounds like the Dolby technology would work via a Blu-ray player. And it will still require the same poindexter looking glasses to get the full effect!
